The Story
This coffee blend captures the essence of spring, celebrating the season’s warmth, hope, and optimism. It comes from Smyrna, famously known as the Jonquil City, a nickname rooted in local history. In 1883, Samuel Taylor and his wife introduced jonquil bulbs from Spokane, Washington, to their Smyrna home, sharing them with neighbors. The bulbs multiplied easily, returning each year with little care, establishing a lasting tradition in the city. The Taylor family home is now preserved as the Taylor-Brawner House within Taylor-Brawner Park. The flowers themselves, Narcissus jonquilla or rush daffodils, are native to Spain and Portugal but have been naturalized in many regions worldwide. This blend reflects both the local heritage and the fresh, vibrant spirit of spring.
