The Story
Filiberto and his wife Blanca Herrera have worked in coffee production for many years, relocating in 2005 to a plot closer to home after selling his distant farm. Filiberto personally prepared much of the new land, building their operation side by side. This lot represents a collaboration with his friend Jesús López, who entrusted Filiberto with marketing and managing his coffee. Filiberto connected Jesús with La Central de Café, and they agreed to share profits, with Filiberto overseeing farm inputs and field supervision. He expresses pride in this responsibility and looks forward to improved access as a new road is built. The coffee is transported in clean sacks to the wet mill, where it is depulped, dry fermented, washed, and terrace-dried for about five days. Filiberto and Blanca handle the processing together, ensuring care and quality throughout.
