This lot comes from the Kindeng Estate, a 350 - hectare coffee farm that was started back in the 1960s. The slanting slopes were actually planted with coffee by missionaries nearly 110 years ago. But an Australian businessman named Walter Carpenter took over the land in the 60s. His work and dedication led to its success. In the early 2000s, the Estate had a shift in ownership and is now managed by Carpenter Estates.
Kindeng Estate is named after the region where the farm and mill are located within the Jiwaka province. The land beneath the Estate is rich with volcanic minerals. Within the Estate, there are roughly 90 species of birds – revealing the rich and biodiverse ecosystem teeming within the coffee trees.
